My child became ill hearing voices, seeing a figure and self harming. Asked for help, was referred to mental health services. Was informed it was tiredness in an appointment lasting no longer than 20 minutes.
Over a period of no longer than 12 months, made 3 suicide attempts.
Each time the services said no mental illness.
Denied sectioning. Denied medication. Denied access to a psychiatrist despite pleas from the GP. Read 4 page suicide note that had been written on the 3rd failed attempt and still refused to acknowledge my child was ill and had asked for help.
Post death diagnosis from 2 experienced experts was schizophrenia.
